If you expected an Ontario Trillium Benefit (OTB) deposit and nothing arrived, first check whether a payment was scheduled for you this month. OTB is not always paid monthly. A missing monthly deposit and a payment that CRA says it issued call for different checks; neither, on its own, tells you whether you qualify or what you should receive.

Check whether this month had a payment for you

Start with your OTB notice for the applicable benefit year and the payment information in your own CRA account. The notice and account record are more useful than a date shared online because OTB payment arrangements can differ. Confirm the payment mode and the period covered before treating an empty bank record as a delayed deposit. CRA's OTB questions and answers explains the payment arrangements.

Use CRA's benefit payment dates page to check the published OTB issue date for the period you are asking about. That date is a calendar reference, not a promise that every reader will receive a deposit. Match it against your own notice and account record rather than assuming a payment is due simply because the calendar lists one.

Look for an issued payment in your CRA record

Go through the official CRA sign-in page and select your Individual account. CRA's contact guidance directs people checking a missing benefit to review Mail, Profile and Benefit and credits status. Look for the relevant notice, payment information and any message that could explain what your record shows. Keep the date and wording you find; do not rely on a bank balance alone to describe CRA's status.

If your record shows no scheduled payment for the month, return to the notice and payment mode. If it shows a payment was issued but you cannot find it, note the issue date and check the account where you expected to receive it. A payment record is the useful distinction to bring to CRA. Do not post a notice, account screenshot, banking details or identification in a public comment to get help.

Use the official route for the result you found

For a payment CRA shows as issued but missing, CRA's OTB payment calendar guidance says to wait 10 working days from the payment date before contacting CRA about that missing payment. This applies to the missing-issued-payment question; it is not a general waiting period before you may ask about a notice, payment mode or account information. The CRA contact page provides the official route and alternatives if you cannot use the online account. Explain the difference between your notice, CRA payment record and bank record, and ask CRA to clarify it.

If the unresolved timing leaves a bill due before money you can confirm is available, plan with the payday bill calendar and consider asking the biller about its due date. Neither a published benefit date nor a requested bill-date change is money received or an extension granted.
