If your Canada child benefit (CCB) payment has not arrived, check your personal record in CRA My Account first. Look for the benefit payment date and amount, then compare them with the official CCB payment schedule and your bank activity. The schedule shows CRA’s planned payment day, your CRA record shows what CRA reports for you, and your bank record shows whether money is available. The CCB contact route depends on what those records show.
If the scheduled date has not passed
If the scheduled day is still ahead, it is too early to call that payment missing. The calendar cannot confirm your personal amount or bank availability. If you cannot sign in to CRA My Account, use CRA’s official access or recovery routes.
If CRA shows a payment, but your bank does not
Check the payment date and amount in My Account against your bank activity. Make sure you are looking at the account where you expect the deposit. A CRA payment entry and spendable money at the bank are separate records, so avoid treating either one as proof of the other.
Keep the scheduled day, the date and amount in your CRA record, and the bank activity you checked at hand. That lets you describe the mismatch without guessing its cause.
If the amount changed or no payment appears
Read your latest benefit notice before drawing a conclusion. CRA says the notice is where to check changes to your CCB payment. In CRA’s account, select your Individual account, then review Benefit and credits status, Mail for pending communications, and Profile for account information. These records may show what question to raise; a missing or changed amount alone does not explain why it happened. CRA payment guidance · CRA contact guidance.
If you cannot find an explanation, note what the notice and account actually show. Ask CRA to explain the specific status or communication you see.
When and how to contact CRA
For a missing CCB payment, CRA’s guide says to wait five business days after the scheduled payment day before calling. In Ontario, the CCB number is 1-800-387-1193; use the CCB contact page for your region and the information to have ready. If your account shows a changed or unclear status, you can use the official account and contact routes to ask what that record means. CRA CCB guide.
A useful question is: “My scheduled CCB date was [date]. My account shows [the exact status, date and amount], and my bank shows [what you checked]. What should I check or do next?” Write down CRA’s answer and any next step it gives you. This reports the records, not a diagnosis of your entitlement or a promised payment date.

If a delayed payment creates a short-term bill gap, ask whether your bill due date can change. Romii is Coming Soon in Ontario for small, temporary cash-flow gaps; applications are not open. You can join the waitlist for launch updates, but joining does not affect your CCB or provide immediate funds.
